by a young man at CSTC
At first,
I was afraid to be with you.
I knew my family wouldn’t like you.
I knew we had entirely different friends
and yet
I started hanging around your crowd
and that’s when we became better friends.
With each time I hung out with you
we became closer and closer
and the more I felt
I needed to be with you.
All of my time and money
became focused on you,
I stole for you,
I lied for you,
I snuck around my family for you
and that’s when I knew
I was addicted.
