      Hello everyone,
Here is my model poem. I couldn’t find anything suitable among the works of well-known poets, so I decided to write one myself.
I’m including the poem translated into English, but I will present the Polish version to my students.
      I hope you enjoy it.
      Warm regards,
      Anna

      For a while now —
      I’ve been watching myself.
      Not with pride.
      Not with shame.
      Just watching…
      and asking —
Where does all this pain come from?

      Growing up —
      is the hardest climb.
      I chase —
      though I never run.
      A crowd before me —
      a scream inside:
      You’ll be no one —
      if you lose again.

      And still —
      somewhere quiet in me —
      a softer voice whispers:
      sit by the river.
      breathe.
      turn the crowd
      into pen and paper
      turn the scream
      into open sky —
      a place
      with no complaint
      no noise
      just space

      …
      to become

Thanks for sharing your personal poem with us Anna! I especially appreciated the lines, “turn the scream / into open sky—”. And I’m interested in hearing how your student’s respond to this poem.
