My name is Anna Ravić. I am a special education teacher at the Polish primary school. My plan is to use the Pongo method during preventive workshops that I conduct in classes.
I will be using the Pongo method in my work with school youth aged 12–15. This series of six workshops is designed to support students in grades 6–8 as they navigate the challenges of adolescence—stress, strong emotions, and peer pressure. The sessions are divided into three themes, with two workshops for each theme.
In the first workshop of every theme, we focus on expression. Following the Pongo method, I begin by reading a poem, then we open a conversation about it. Students work in small groups with a fill-in-the-blank activity to create a collaborative poem, giving voice to their own feelings and experiences. Based on the ideas from each group, we create one class poem
The second workshop shifts to coping. Here we use ideas from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to explore healthy ways of responding to difficult emotions and situations. Students learn practical strategies for handling stress and peer pressure while staying true to themselves.
Together, these workshops create a safe, creative space where young people can express, reflect, and grow. Thank you for the opportunity to work with the Pongo method Sincerely, Anna
