Join Pongo’s 2025 End of Year Fundraising Campaign!

Pongo is excited to launch our 2025 year end fundraising campaign! From Giving Tuesday (12/2) through the end of the year, Pongo will raise funds to support the growth of our therapeutic poetry programming. We have an ambitious goal of raising $70,000, and every dollar donated will directly impact the lives of young people; sparking their self-discovery and charting a hopeful path forward.
And thanks to a generous group of donors the first $15,000 we raise in our campaign will be doubled. That means once our community raises $15,000, we will have already generated $30,000 to support youth healing through our therapeutic youth poetry programming.
Pongo was founded on the knowledge that poetry writing provides a vessel for healing from the most devastating of traumas. Your support for our year-end fundraising campaign will connect Pongo’s healing poetry programming with youth across the country who have experienced trauma.
The need for Pongo’s work is more urgent than ever. Childhood trauma is pervasive in the U.S., and is associated with increased rates of depression, alcohol dependency, and suicide. The situation facing systems-impacted youth is even more dire, with youth experiencing childhood trauma at higher rates but lacking the necessary support to process their emotional turmoil. This is why Pongo exists; to support young people in their moment of need through the power of creative expression.
Pongo’s 2025 year end campaign is raising funds to sustain our support of systems-impacted youth and their mental and emotional well-being. Every donation to Pongo will support our impact, bringing our healing poetry programming to young people in pain.
Your contribution to Pongo’s 2025 year end campaign will fuel our therapeutic impact on young people, allowing us to:
- Offer Pongo poetry programming to systems-impacted youth across Seattle-area juvenile detention centers and residential psychiatric hospitals, inspiring their healing, growth and recovery,
- Create 10 new poetry programs across the country, based on Pongo’s trauma-informed approach and led by Pongo certified practitioners,
- Champion the stories, creativity, and perspectives of the young people we serve, the efficacy of Pongo’s approach, and the mental health benefits of youth self-expression.
Pongo Poetry Project envisions a world where all youth who have experienced childhood trauma can be seen, heard, and affirmed in their full humanity; where youth have the support, resources, and tools they need to heal, grow, and lead dignified lives. With your support, Pongo will share the relief, joy, and confidence that our poetry programming cultivates, with vulnerable youth across the country. Join our campaign today!
