Eli Hastings, former Pongo assistant director, was named one of 13 artists who are poised to shape the future of the arts in Seattle. Eli was the subject of an article in The Seattle Times by Nicole Brodeur on October 6, 2013, in recognition of Eli’s memoir “Clearly Now, the Rain” (2013) and his commitment to writing as an act of healing, including his work since 2008 with Pongo. “Clearly Now” is about Eli’s relationship with a young woman who was brilliant and lovable but whose life traveled on a self-destructive path through depression, drugs, and suicidal feelings.
